In June 2025, The University Times reported that Trinity College Dublin had warned students about the Dublin International Christian Church, part of the International Christian Church (ICC), after reports that it was approaching students on campus. The university's secretary wrote to the church asking it not to come onto campus or solicit students, and incoming students were warned about the group during orientation.

The article described former members' accounts of emotional distress and of being told to cut ties with friends and family.

Questions to consider

  1. How were you first invited? Did you know at the time what you were being invited into?
  2. Why might a university treat a church's campus recruiting differently from other student groups?
